Spring Cleaning / Painting

 

As you can see, Tammy got excited for spring also.  So much so, that she decided it was time to start painting again.  This jumble of pictures reminds me of what the kitchen and living room looked like during the middle of her project.

Yes, you could hear me grumble and complain.  But now that this part is complete, it looks Wonderful.  Thanks Tammy!

Spring in Smithfield, UT 2012

Well - spring has finally sprung!  It's springtime in Smithfield.  The sun is shining, snow is melting, and flowers are growing.  It just doesn't get much better than this.

I just LOVE the beauty of daffodils.

Gardening starting inside

I can't wait to get my tomatoes and peppers planted outside.  So - I have started them inside.  I have over a dozen roma tomatoes growing nicely.  I have also started over 10 different varieties of peppers. I just might have enough for my son to sell to earn some money.

Stephen's Band Experience

Stephen had an extra band practice on Monday, and the parents were invited to attend.  The pictures aren't great, but the sound was terrific!

Carrying a Gun is Not Disorderly Conduct (HB49)

The Utah Legislature is considering a bill sponsored by Rep. Ray (R), district 13, that provides clarification that law-abiding citizens who are carrying a gun are NOT considered in violation of Disorderly Conduct as long as there is no additional threatening behavior.  This has passed the House and is in the Senate for consideration.

What is hard for me to understand, is why various Police agencies and municipalities are against this?  Utah's constitution clearly states in Article 1, Section 6:

"The individual right of the people to keep and bear arms for security and defense of self, family, others, property, or the state, as well as for other lawful purposes shall not be infringed; but nothing herein shall prevent the Legislature from defining the lawful use of arms."

Shall NOT be infringed!

There is nothing in HB49 that gives further "rights" or "limitations".  It merely states that by carrying a gun without any "additional threatening behavior" a person is NOT guilty of disorderly conduct.

Beet Juice Ice Melt at Utah State University

Guess what USU is using for a new ice melt?  If you guessed Beet Juice, you would be correct!  I guess it's a new way to be more environmentally friendly.  Hmmm - we'll see.

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is Coming - Are you Ready?

This has turned out to be one of my favorite holidays. Yes - it is sometimes stressful to try and find something or do something to express my love.

However, over the years (we've been married 23 years this fall) I have found out that it does not really matter what I do, just as long as I do something.
